Being part of the projects and spending time actually looking at the sites you see so many naked women, but not in a porn context - porn makes women so insecure - porn girls look so different to other girls and makes you start to think you are the abnormal one. Seeing the girls on these sites makes you feel so much more confident about yourself just the way you are.
If I could tell women anything about the projects, I'd say that your sexuality is yours - just fucking own it. It's about you and what you are doing. If you participate you'll find out so much about yourself. It's not about money - you get a lot more out of it than that. I've met the best people in the world and gotten so much more back from it than I've put in. I wish every girl who did it could get out of it what I have.
If you want to make a political statement, be really sexy, or whatever, you can just do it. If you make something you are proud of it doesn't matter what other people think." |
| "PARTICIPATING in the projects over the last 2 years has changed my view of sexuality. It's become a part of my life as opposed to what I just do behind closed doors and it has entirely shaped who I am now. When I started I was quite young and still discovering my sexual self. "Life is about finding boundaries and pushing them to the limits just to see how much you can take. Some people come out stronger, and that is exactly how I felt doing the shoot.
It helped me to understand myself better, embrace my passion and be comfortable in my skin.
I no longer look at the mirror and think I can be a few pounds lighter or imagine what life would be like if I had parts of me 'done'. I no longer see myself as an object but a person and I love myself all the more for it. I have defied customs and traditions and I am proud of it. Find your own outlet, but be true to yourself always and try not to hurt the ones you love along the way." |

"Growing up in the wilderness, my parents had a damned hard time trying to make me wear clothing. It never made sense for me to cover up when nudity felt so liberating. When they tried to bring me out in polite company, the results were laughable. Of course, if I'm capable of making people laugh I am happier as a result. Besides, it was a good time. Generally, I feel the same to this day." |

ZILLE D is a professional photographer working out of San Francisco, California. She owns her own fetish photography business. She first submitted a shoot to our projects in 2004, after hearing about it from some online friends. Almost three years later, she's still sending us photo sets. Heres why: "You can tell a great deal about an artist by the images they create. Also, you can tell a lot about a model by the jobs she takes, the poses she prefers, the way she looks into the camera. To make an image that shows both how you look at the world, and how you want to world to look at you - well, you're giving away lots of secrets, there!

If you're planning on standing for public office one day, getting naked on the net is probably not a good idea. Some people are still funny about things like that. But - if you think the risk is worth the payoff (and I'm not discussing the money here, at all. You need to want this for other rewards) then go for it, because ISM is one of the best websites out there - your images will be treated respectfully and if you chose to participate in the site, you'll be taken care of. There is nothing else like it. Having been a model already, by the time I submitted my first folio to ISM I was already pretty settled in my perceptions of nudity and my body. But I will say it is nice to be on a site with other 'normal' girls, and not ones who have personal trainers and plastic surgery! It is good to see your body along-side other 'real' bodies.
Also, being both a model and a photographer, I love having that level of control - being both the artist and the subject. Now that I have quit modeling to focus on my photography, I am still submitting my images to ISM, for that very reason." |

"EVERY one of the shoots has made me feel so great, really free and open. At first it was a bit daunting and I was a little hesitant, but after I met all these awesome people and started doing the shooting I just straight away realised that there was nothing to hide and it reaffirmed my beliefs that we shouldn't have any hang ups, or any guilt. 
I think the popularity and interest in the project is a clear sign that it is time to let go of taboos and wrong feelings about sex, nudity and masturbation or any natural feelings that come to our being. An example of what it feels like - just think about the feeling of jumping in the ocean with nothing on, it's the most exhilarating feeling with the ocean touching every part of your skin."
